It is the policy of A.R. Chesson Construction Co., Inc. to provide a
safe working environment for all of its employees and
subcontractors. This can and will be accomplished by employee
involvement, proper management and training, and providing current
safety manuals with up-to-date information. Every employee should
make it a goal to perform each task in the safest manner possible
and to report every unsafe action or condition to their
superintendent as soon as possible. A.R. Chesson Construction Co.,
Inc. will have monthly safety meetings and updates, scheduled
appropriately. Each field superintendent is expected to pass any
safety information and/or updates to all field employees and
subcontractors working on their project. Each superintendent is
expected and required to have a “toolbox” safety meeting once a week
on their project site. By working together, we can eliminate
accidents and have a safe, productive, and professional workplace.

Training:
We
utilized OSHA’s
Education, Training, and Technical Assistance’s mobile classroom,
Labor One, to train 20 employees on scaffolding, fall protection, and
ladders.
Current Issues:
Our Annual Safety Meeting was held on February 6, 2009, at the
College of the Albemarle in Edenton for a day of training, company
meetings, and information. Tim Raffensperger of Travelers Insurance
provided our field personnel with very thorough and informative
updates on Fall Protection, Ladders, Scaffolding and Electrical
Safety.

On Tuesday, April 14,
2009, Cherie Berry, North Carolina Commissioner of Labor presented
to the hard working and safety conscious employees of A.R.
Chesson Construction Company, Inc. the Fourth Consecutive Gold
Certificate of Safety Achievement.
Congratulations on the receipt of this award and many thanks for
your outstanding safety and health efforts and the promotion of
safer working conditions.
