Atlantic Beach Tornado Repair Project to Begin

On November 25, 2013, a water spout came ashore on Atlantic beach and became an EF-2 tornado with winds between 111-135 miles per hour. That tornado hit two condominium complexes as well as Carteret General Hospital.

Ocean Sands Condominiums was one of the hardest hit area. All 72 units were damaged with the back of the building sustaining the most damage. After regulatory approval work, the project has started with completion of repairs expected to be completed in six to eight months.
