Old Dominion University has partnered with A. R. Chesson Construction for the renovations of the new Monarch Hall Maker Space. The project consists of interior refinishing and construction with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work. The project manager is Adam Hughes, and site superintendent is Jim Adkins.
Gates County Public school systems chose A. R. Chesson Construction to serve as their Construction Manager for their 42,400 square foot addition and renovations for Central Middle School. The additions include new classrooms and group toilets, staff toilets, administration offices, media center, and new gymnasium including lockers. Some of the renovations include new electrical to supply the HVAC systems, roofing, windows, and room finishes.. This is the second Construction Manager at Risk project ARCC has been awarded by GCS. The project manager is Daniel Plyler and the site superintendent is Brian Plyler.
A. R. Chesson Construction Company began the process of hanging drywall at the East Carolina University's Bate Building. Project expected to be completed by June 30th.

The NSU Madison Hall Auditorium Renovation consisted of demolition of finishes as well as the electrical and mechanical systems in the Auditorium. The renovated space included all new finishes including polished concrete flooring, theater seating, acoustical ceilings and wall panels, new decorative metal rails, and new lighting fixtures with a networked controlled digital intelligent lighting system. A. R. Chesson Construction Company has now completed ten projects at Norfolk State University in Virginia.
New ceilings are being installed this week at the Norfolk State University Fine Arts Building.
After a 45-day renovation, a former classroom has been transformed into an instructional woodworking shop at Bowser Hall on the campus of Norfolk State University in Virginia.
The scope included demolition, new electrical circuits and light fixtures, new rooftop HVAC, dust collection system and installation of shop equipment. Finishes were updated by installing new drywall, VCT flooring and Corian solid surface wall caps, and painting throughout the space. New doors and access controls were also installed.
Construction will begin January 2015 for our latest project at Norfolk State University. This project involves the renovation of the Bowser Hall Technology Lab. The scope of work includes demolition, wall framing, painting and flooring. A. R. Chesson Construction will also be performing extensive mechanical and electrical upgrades for a new rooftop A/C unit as well as installing a new dust collection system. Similar to previous projects at NSU, this will be another successful fast track job with a timeframe of only 45 days.
